Why South Africa?

A few reasons to choose South Africa as your next destination…

Great value for Money

As a year-round tourist destination, South Africa continues to offer exceptional value for money. Not only is there a superb range of affordable places to stay, wining and dining can also be very wallet-friendly and there’s no doubt that international travellers benefit greatly from the exchange rate. South Africa also caters to its local market very well, and for those who want to skip the 4 and 5-star luxury options, there are always great cost-effective alternatives which is why many South Africans holiday close to home.

Amazing year-round climate

The weather is spectacular! South Africa enjoys a high degree of sunshine, with rainfall equating to around half of the global average.  Most of the country experiences summer rain however the Western Cape has more of a Mediterranean climate and so this region receives more winter rain. That said, even during the winter months South Africa’s chill is nothing compared to that in Europe, and although it is possible to experience frost and snow on the mountains, it’s also possible to be swimming in the sea!

Breathtaking scenery & an abundance of things to do

Exceptional wildlife beckons you in SA, thanks to the many amazing game parks, such as the Kruger National Park and private reserves, like Sabi Sands and Thornybush, to mention a few. Surround yourself in thousands of kilometres of exquisite countryside and glorious beaches, not forgetting one of the world’s most beautiful cities, Cape Town, which probably has more activities than are possible to fit into one single visit, and we haven’t even started on the alluring vineyards yet!

South Africa is a haven for food and wine lovers, offering up a delicious variety of culinary experiences around the country while flaunting the countries internationally acclaimed wines. From city restaurants to farmers markets and world-renowned wine estates, SA is proving to be a dynamic place to eat and drink.

Whether visiting deserts, savannahs, beaches or cities, the tip of the continent offers an endless list of things to do, with world-class golf courses and top-class accommodation adding to its appeal.

The sheer extent of the country could have you swigging sundowners in trendy Camps Bay one day, diving with Great white sharks the next, or lying under the stars waiting in anticipation for the roar of a lion to break the silence of the African bush.

It’s the natural treasures like these that make South Africa a must-see for any keen traveller.

Unsurpassed accommodation

Accommodation throughout South Africa is as diverse and unique as the country itself. We just love the range of properties on offer here, from boutique guest houses, to bayside lodges, vineyard cottages dotted around a working wine farm and remote tented camps, SA will certainly not dampen the spirits.

There is a lot South Africa can be proud of when it comes to accommodating guests. The level of service is high, the variety of establishments quite fascinating, and when it comes to comfort, South Africans certainly know how to pull out all the stops. In our opinion the accommodation is world-class, and if you are a little budget conscious, we can still guarantee to find you something fabulous.

Family friendly

A trip to South Africa is not only very affordable but also perfect for families and kids of all ages. Being parents to 2 children we really want people to understand just how well families are catered for, and the extensive activities that are available.

The majority of visitors to SA want to experience a safari, and seeing animals in their natural environment is a huge excitement for children. Some lodges might have age restrictions for the very little ones, but if this is the case there are babysitters on hand to help while the rest of the family can enjoy some magical game activities.

Wildlife, water sports, zip-lining, hiking trails, historic caves, beaches and penguins are just some of the highlights that make SA an exhilarating and fun-packed family holiday destination.

It is no surprise that South African can often be described as a world in one country.
