More about Plettenberg Bay
If you travel a little further along the coastline from Knysna, you will reach the pretty seaside town of Plettenberg Bay, or Plett as most people like to call it. Surrounded by indigenous forests and beautiful mountains, Plett offers visitors a wonderful beach experience with plenty of safe swimming areas, excellent accommodations and a plethora of activities that can be enjoyed by everyone. From sun-drenched beaches, animal sanctuaries, water parks, hiking, biking and surfing opportunities, not to mention the local wine farms in the area, choices here really are endless.
Plett is also known for its whale activity, with opportunities of seeing southern right whales between June and November. We definitely recommend a visit to Robberg Nature Reserve where they are often seen, and if it’s not your lucky day, you won’t be left feeling disappointed as the scenery is simply jaw-dropping – Robberg is an unforgettable experience and must for any avid hiker.
There is an amazing assortment of dining options in Plett, offering an array of flavours and serving some of the finest food along the Garden Route. The culinary experiences topped off with some awesome local wine will leave you feeling inspired and complete, wishing you could come back for more.
