Garden Route - Tsitsikamma
The Tsitsikamma area is known as the “Garden of the Garden Route” and is situated only 150 km from Port Elizabeth and 600km from Cape Town. The untouched Tsitsikamma Forest is a world of giant yellowwoods, forest ferns, clear streams and magnificent birds. The coastal area consists of a narrow coastal strip with massive cliffs and isolated beaches, which incorporates the Tsitsikamma National Park protecting a wonderland of inter-tidal and marine life. This area stretches all the way to the Storms river mouth.
Tsitsikamma National Park is Africa’s oldest and largest marine reserve. Tourists converge on the area with its myriad walking and hiking trails in and around the forest and rugged coastline. This area also offers much in the way of adrenaline activities such as the highest Bunji Jump in the world, Dolphin and whale watching, black water tubing and many more. En route to Plettenberg Bay make sure to turn off at Natures Valley. A quaint village with exclusive beaches, river and beautiful scenery await.
